ABOUT US - Our mission

The Polio Quebec is a not-for-profit organization which has for objectives to be the best possible source of help in Quebec for people concerned by polio, to provide support and information to those who had polio, and to foster public awareness on all aspects of polio, including prevention.

Thanks to the contribution of its members, gifts and a subvention of the Ministry for Health and Social services, Polio-Quebec can provide information and offer services to its members and to any victim of the Post-Polio Syndrome (PPS).

Its goals are to :

• Foster public and medical awareness about polio, post-polio syndrome (PPS) and the importance of measures which improve the quality of life of people touched by this disease.
• Advocate on behalf of people who had polio and victims of the PPS.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships with other relevant organizations.
• Encourage research into the treatment of PPS and other related conditions.
